In late March Robin had the opportunity to go to San Francisco for a conference for work, so Linda tagged along. Luckily, in her new job as a travel agent, travel is actually encouraged (imagine that!). While Robin spent a few days in meetings, Linda toodled around town taking pictures. Since we've been there before, she had a good idea of where the good pictures were to be had. Despite the fact that it rained and was overcast and cold every day we were there, she got some good shots in.

Here's the Golden Gate Bridge as seen from underneath. Linda took a boat ride that offered this unique perspective.

Another view of the bridge, taken while Linda was on the boat in San Francisco Bay.

This photo of everyone's favorite bridge was actually taken on our last day in California, on which it rained the least. We drove up on a mountain to get a great view of the bridge and the city.

On those first few days we were in California, while Robin languished in a windowless room listening to people talk about computer code, Linda was out taking pictures like this of the seals at Pier 39 in town. In fact, Robin might have been in one of those tallish buildings forming the skyline.

I think the guy on the right might have been at the conference, too.

Within five minutes of arrival in any large city, Linda always knows all the details of the public transportation system. Robin sometimes knows how to hail a cab. She took the trolley to Fisherman's Wharf, she took the bus to the Castro district (seen here), she went to Japantown, she went to museums, she went here, there and everywhere. Robin went to the convention center and back.

Here's San Francisco's skyline seen from the bay.

One of San Francisco's many trolley cars, trying to turn around. Seeing these things always makes me think of Rice-a-roni. It's just the power of advertising on youth, I guess.
