Clarence Celestine Gulling, 1833-1897, and

possibly their daughter, Kate. The Gullings came to the U.S. from France
shortly after their marriage in 1854. Celestine later served in the
Union Army.

George William Steadman, 1815-1893, and his
wife Elizabeth Heistand Long Steadman, 1820-1902. Photo circa 1890.
George was a blacksmith, grocer, baker and farmer in Ohio and Iowa. In
the Civil War, Elizabeth went behind enemy lines to care for her son who
was sick with typhoid fever in a Confederate prison.
