On Sunday May 27 Linda went to Rocky Mount, N.C. to meet her sister and mom and niece and nephew and two other friends. They had traveled from Waldo, FL on the train. They acquired a rental car and we headed for Kitty Hawk.

Dean, Mom, and Mary Ann on the porch of the timeshare.
North of Kitty Hawk and the town of Duck (really!), there's a tiny town called Corolla where the road ends and the 4-wheeled vehicles and wild ponies reign supreme.
Near the Carratuck lighthouse there's a boardwalk through the marsh...this view is why the boardwalk was built.
This is the bay side of Corolla with a show-off seagull!
Mom as queen of the beach in my blue hat.
Mary Ann and her friend Diane trying to soak up the non-existent sun for a few minutes before we left the beach.
The Carratuck lighthouse outside Corolla sits in a grassy area which closed at 6 p.m. We got there about 6:20 so we had to take pictures from outside the fence.
Me and my slender niece, Melissa, standing on a sand dune.
Melissa and Jason, her main squeeze, posing for Aunt Linda and her fancy digital camera. They are a cute couple.
Nephew Dean and Mom on the "smoking" porch.
Mary Ann and her "baby" when Teddy isn't around.
What a view! What a car! I finally got to use the four-wheel drive for real!
Mary Ann posing in the master bedroom's jacuzzi. If you look carefully, you might glimpse the photographer...
